This shiur further develops Rosenzweig’s idea that the baal teshuvah must begin with a turn towards Jewish practice. A Jew does not rely on religious emotion or inspiration, rather they simply do. In doing the mitzvot, they gain access to something that is impossible to attain from the outside. According to Rosenzweig, one hears God differently in the doing.
