This shiur is in honor of Rav Kook’s yahretzeit (5782). Rav Kook’s messianism is a defining part of his thought. For him, redemption was not to be found in some far off future but just beyond the horizon. With nearly a century having passed since his death, this belief, however, appears to be far more of a dream than a reality. Given this, what then should be our attitude to his teachings today? Should we have faith redemption is already upon us or should we just have hope that it will come in the future?
