Even nearly a century since his death, the German Jewish philosopher Franz Rosenzweig remains one of the most brilliant Jewish thinkers of the 20th century. Despite almost converting to Christianity, Rosenzweig ultimately decided to dedicate his life to Judaism, and in his return to the tradition, he served as a model for countless other Jews trying to find their way back home as well. We will be exploring Rosenzweig’s letters and philosophical writings to see how they shed light on what it means to be a baal teshuvah, a position all Jews find themselves in today.
